We're Moving!
Well, everything is official now. We are moving to Cary, North Carolina in a few short weeks. I start at my new job on October 29. It's happening very quickly. We have our house on the market now and are crossing our fingers for a sale before we have to leave. The market has really dropped so it may be a bit hit or miss. We are really looking forward to the move and the kids are excited as well. They are eager to meet new people and go to a new school and have a new house. Everything is an adventure for them. It will be nice to have a less hectic pace of life without the mass of people all around like D.C. has.
My new job is with a company called The SAS Institute. They make the statistical software that I have been using as a statistician and as a student since 1998. As far as I know they are the largest privately held software company in the world and are consistently ranked among the best places to work in the nation each year. My new job will be to develop testing procedures and software to make sure that their financial risk software is functioning correctly. It is a change for me in that I haven't worked in the financial realm much, but I hope to pick it up quickly.
So anyway, it is an exciting time for us. New baby, new job, new house, etc. We don't have a new address in Cary, yet, but will let everyone know as soon as we do.

We had a great fourth of july with the kids. We went out to Ohio to visit Chris's family. Will and Andria were out from Oregon as Sherilyn and Mike had been watching their kids while they enjoyed a free vacation Will earned at his job as a sales rep for Phizer. We played most of the time and enjoyed lots of water, both at their house and at water parks. Food also played a central role in the festivities. Sadie and Mason were sad to have to leave when it was done. Here is a slideshow of pictures. Click the slide show to see an album with the pictures.

Wow! What photos of the baby! Those are amazing. We took Dana and Julia to dinner for his birthday and he said they had seen the 3-D photos so tried again to find it and finally did. I must have forgotten that it was blogger as I had put in blogspot.com and nothing came up. He looks like a Mason already! How exciting!

We have had some relatively nice weather the past week so it was a bit of a surprise when we woke up the morining to a beautiful blanket of snow. The flakes were some of the largest that I have seen. Around here people cancel things pretty quickly when the snow flies so it wasn't a big surprise when we got the call that church was cancelled. We decided to make the best of it and enjoy the day outside. The kids loved playing at the snow at Grandma and Grandpa Johns's house last week so they were eager to get out and enjoy it some more. Silly me - I had already put all the winter gear away for the year - thinking there wasn't much chance we would get any more - so I had to dig through the shed to find the box again. Once we had all our gear on we got right to work making snowmen and snow angels. The kids played for hours and Katie treated us to yummy cinnamon rolls afterwards.

Mason and I had a great trip to see the cousins in January. He had a blast with them and loved seeing Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Lizzie and little Tyler too. While there, he learned how to ride a two wheeler, and get along with the boys. Mason is a great little traveler. I had a fun time at my conference in San Diego and really enjoyed seeing everyone.

Sadie has lost yet another tooth. This is her second top tooth and fourth tooth overall. She separated it from herself this time with a combination of punching and flicking! She is one tough little cookie. She was pretty excited to put it under her bed and get a little treat from the tooth fairy. The tooth fairy (who has been known to take an evening off before) did not dissapoint this time. Sadie was the proud recipient of one dollar and enjoyed spending it at the dollar store on presents!
